The Screen Actors Guild Awards have set a date for the 2025 edition.
The film and television awards ceremony will be streamed live on Netflix on February 23 next year.
Additionally, important dates and deadlines for the SAG awards season were announced. Submissions for nomination consideration will open on August 29th and close on November 1st. A producer, studio/network, agent, manager, or publicist, with the actor’s permission, may submit an actor’s performance for consideration, but the actor may also submit his or her own performance. must have aired or premiered between January 1st and December 31st of this year.
Nominations for the 2025 SAG Awards will be announced on January 8th.
This is the second year that the SAG Awards will be streamed live on Netflix. The streamer entered into a multi-year partnership with actors guild SAG-AFTRA in January 2023 and streamed the awards show on his YouTube channel a month later. This year’s SAG Awards were streamed live on Netflix. Previously, the SAG Awards had been broadcast on TNT since 1998, but SAG-AFTRA announced the end of that partnership in May 2022, temporarily leaving it without a home until a streamer offered the spot.
The SAG Awards will be held one week before next year’s Oscars ceremony, currently scheduled for March 2nd. The SAG Awards serve as a bellwether for acting achievements at the Oscars, as the majority of members of the Motion Picture Academy’s acting categories come from SAG. -AFTRA member.
