“Rebel Moon — Part 2: Scargiver” (Netflix)
Zack Snyder’s Netflix sci-fi/fantasy series may not be on the scale of Dune, but if Snyder has his way, Rebel Moon is just the beginning. “Part 2: The Scargiver” follows Korra (Sofia Boutella) and her band of Freedom Fighters as they struggle to protect their new home planet, Velt, from the machinations of Mother World. Featuring the return of the previous film’s nemesis, this sequel essentially serves as a feature-length climactic finale battle in which Korra and the revolutionaries must come to terms with the tragic past that brought them to this moment.

“Midnight with the Devil” (Shudder)
“Late Night with the Devil” proves that there’s still life (and plenty of scares) in the found footage horror genre. This work is structured as a documentary that investigates a mysterious incident that occurred during the live broadcast of his fictional late-night talk show in the 1970s. David Dastmalchian plays Jack Delroy, the host of a struggling chat show called “Night Owls,” who invites an obsessed girl onto his show in a bid to boost his ratings. As you can imagine, all hell breaks loose. A Night with the Devil shines in its creative use of the talk show format both behind the scenes and in front of the camera, building up the tension before building to an unforgettable finale that stays with you long after the credits roll. There is a particular thing. roll.

“Immaculate Conception” (PVOD)
It’s too early to tell if a new scream queen has been born, but “Euphoria” star Sidney Sweeney is off to a good start with “Immaculate.” In this skin-crawling horror, Sweeney plays Cecilia, an American woman who survives a near-death experience as a child and enters a convent in rural Italy. But after she arrives, strange things begin to happen. Things get even weirder when she mysteriously becomes pregnant and everyone else at the convent hails it as a miracle. What begins as a spiritual journey quickly descends into an inescapable nightmare as her convent’s twisted plans for her are revealed.
