Prince Harry and Meghan Markle stepped down as senior working royals in 2020, and the couple moved to Montecito, California, shortly after.
Since stepping down as royals, the Sussexes have established a life for themselves and their two children in America, and the Sussexes have partnered with various companies and are also working on some exciting projects.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan have collaborated with the likes of Spotify and Netflix since stepping down as senior members of the royal family, with the couple releasing a now-defunct podcast, a hard-hitting documentary and a revealing memoir. But despite the couple’s talk about their royal days, which have since been embroiled in controversy, some of their longtime friends continue to support them through it all.

Five famous friends of the Sussexes remain close to the couple, including Ellen DeGeneres, Serena Williams, Beyoncé, Tyler Perry and Michael Bublé.
Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan are long-time friends with chat show host Ellen and his wife, actress Portia de Rossi. The Sussexes’ home is in the same neighborhood as Ellen’s, and it was revealed earlier this year that the Sussexes adopted one of Ellen’s chickens.
The couple are also close to tennis icon Serena Williams, whom Meghan met at a 2010 Super Bowl party, according to reports. Since then, the Duchess has supported her friend at Wimbledon, and she even featured her on her podcast Archetype before it ended last year.
The Sussexes are also friends with Beyoncé and her rapper husband Jay-Z. The Netflix documentary series, released in 2022, revealed that the singing sensation sent Meghan a text message after the couple had a TV interview with Oprah Winfrey.
Tyler Perry is also a friend of the Sussexes, and the filmmaker is also the godmother of their daughter Lilibet. Not only this, but Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan continued to stay at Tyler’s home when they announced their departure from the royal family in 2020, before moving to Montecito.
And the fifth celebrity who stayed close to the Sussexes until the end was Michael Bublé, who was recently spotted with the Duke and Duchess in Canada. Just last week, the royal couple was seen together with the famous Canadian singer and his wife Luisana Lopilato at the Invictus Games One to Go celebrations in Canada.
Meghan Markle and Luisana are said to have struck up a friendship after meeting at a dinner hosted by the duchess’ close friend Jessica Mulroney. According to various reports, this happened around the time Meghan was starring in Suits.
