On average, about 12 new games are released on Steam per day. I think that’s a good thing, but of course it’s difficult to keep it going. Unless we sort out all the games released on Steam, potentially exciting gems are sure to get lost in the flood of new play. That’s exactly what we did. If nothing piqued your interest this week, we’ve compiled an updated list of the best PC games you can play right now, as well as his 2024 games coming out this year.
Kill It with Fire 2
steam page
Release date: April 17th
Developer: Casey Donnellan Games LLC
As a former arachnophobe and now a converted member of Team Spider (thanks to these fascinations), I can understand why people would enjoy a game about killing spiders. That’s what 2020’s Kill It With Fire is all about, and this sequel adds online co-op and his PvP to the mix. On the surface it’s a very simple concept. We use spider tracking technology to hunt down spiders, usually using fire or guns, but we can also kill them by other unconventional means if necessary. In a way, it’s a crazy first-person shooter, perhaps slightly inspired by the hidden object genre. Anyway, it’s currently in early access, with 1.0 scheduled for release later this year.
Common voice ReMix
steam page
Release date: April 17th
Developer: Gamesmith
If you liked Crypt of the Necrodancer’s genius combination of pixel art, rhythm games, and roguelite, then Copyright ReMix will probably rock your socks. It’s like Bullet Hell Dungeon His Crawler, except the different classes are musicians who specialize in different genres, and if you want to roll out with that character, you’ll have to adjust the sound quality to, for example, funk. there is. In a review on Steam, someone described this game as “Rhythm Vampire Survivor,” and that makes sense.
kids of mold
steam page
Release date: April 18th
Developer: Growing Stone
The Mildew Children brings elements of point-and-click adventure and visual novels to terrifying children’s stories. Sure, most kids are scary, but the kids in The Mildew Children follow a “savage pagan tradition” and probably aren’t chasing Robax. You can chat with some of these kids and it will probably lead to some pretty heated conversations. I’m sure because the main character is probably a witch sent to free the village from these little villains. The art style is painterly and a little creepy, making your decisions important, even if they’re not obvious.
Vivat Slovakia
steam page
Release date: April 18th
Developer: Team Vivat
Vivat Slovakia is an ambitious open-world action game set in 1990s Bratislava, just after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and the Czechoslovak Union. As a secret police officer, you’ll take on missions that are “based on real events set in the young Slovak Republic in the 90s” and here’s what appeals to me. So this is partly a historic effort, and it’s also supported by the vehicle you drive. It’s being developed by a studio based in Slovakia, and some players are currently reporting performance issues, but that’s to be expected in Early Access. Later this year, his 1.0 will be released, which will include, among other things, a canine companion.
joan joe
steam page
Release date: April 19th
Developer: Ethan Robichaud, Dean Goodson
That’s the beauty of 21st century PC gaming. The game, in which two giraffes are tied together and forced to complete terrifying obstacle courses in a world of hyper-exaggerated ragdoll physics, could be released with little fanfare. Because people are used to it that way. There are so many great games! It’s free and looks like really stupid fun, just like QWOP, Getting Over It, Jump King, or last week’s The Game of Sisyphus. It’s also free, so there are no excuses.
