Going to the movie theater is a completely different experience than being at home. These are just some of the horror movies you can watch in 2024. Check out the complete list below. If you also like streaming at home, this site is worth a look. Top new movies streaming this week (April 16-22)).
“Abigail” (April 19)
You’ll be happy to know that the first movie on our list is released in theaters today. I’ll definitely go see it. “Abigail” is a fun and entertaining horror movie that will keep you hooked until the end. The story focuses on a group of criminals who kidnap the 12-year-old daughter of an underground powerhouse for ransom. They lock her up in her mansion for her large sum of money, but her plan goes awry. What turns out to be a simple kidnapping mission turns into a gorefest when her daughter turns out to be a ferocious vampire ballerina.

“The Strangers: Chapter 1” (May 17)
If you enjoyed the original movie released in 2008, you’ll probably love this modern version even more. “The Strangers: Chapter 1” is the third film in the series, following “The Strangers” in 2008 and “The Strangers: Prey of the Night” in 2018, and the story follows Maya (Madeleine Petsch). The story revolves around young Ryan (Floy Gutierrez). A couple is stranded in a remote cabin after their car breaks down. After a seemingly peaceful night, the pair must endure unrelenting terror as they come face-to-face with a familiar masked killer. Director Renny Harlin created a new trilogy for this series. , Chapters 2 and 3 will be released in late 2024 (dates not yet confirmed). Each part explores the backstories of masked killers and how they came to be so menacing and evil.
Catch it in your local theater on May 17th.
“The Watchers” (June 14)
I’m a horror fan, so I also love reading scary novels that keep me up at night. One of his novels that stuck with me was made into a movie. That is “The Watchers”. This compelling horror story offers both mystery and terror, leaving you with more questions at the end. The movie, the book, focuses on a young artist named Mina (Dakota Fanning) who is stranded in a vast forest. After taking shelter in a bunker near her, she encounters three strangers who warn her of the supernatural horrors lurking in the darkness outside. People were observed through glass walls, but the reason is unknown.

“A Quiet Place: First Day” (June 28)
I have a top 10 list of favorite horror movies, and one series that proudly ranks on that list is A Quiet Place. These post-apocalyptic horror movies brought something new to the table. Since then, I have finally been offered “A Quiet Place: Day One,” a prequel that takes place before the first two of his films and focuses on the chaos that ensues when a mysterious creature lands on Earth. I did. The film follows Lupita Nyong’o as Sammy as she and Eric (Joseph Quinn) navigate the beginnings of the apocalypse. The movie itself has a very short but chilling synopsis: “Experience the day the world went silent.”

“Alien: Romulus” (August 16)
The horror movie I’m most looking forward to seeing in 2024 is “Alien: Romulus.” Seeing this on the big screen is a completely unique experience that will keep you hooked until you leave the theater. Set in an era not yet explored in the series, the film focuses on a young group of colonists who encounter a xenomorph when boarding an abandoned space station. I have high hopes for “Romulus,” especially since it’s part of such a classic series. Because this event takes place between “alien” and “alien”.
