Adam Sandler’s latest film, Spaceman, has received new critical acclaim on Rotten Tomatoes after initial reviews.
The upcoming Netflix movie centers on Jakub (Sandler), an astronaut who realizes that the marriage he left behind on Earth six months ago may not be what awaits him upon his return.
In a desperate attempt to mend his relationship with his wife (maestro Carey Mulligan), Yakub teams up with a mysterious creature from ancient times (voiced by Paul Dano) to “do something before it’s too late.” “Let’s try to understand why this was the problem.”

These scores may change once the film hits Netflix on March 1st, but it’s a promising start.
Some critics have said:
The Wrap
“Smart, captivating, and tightly packed with interesting content, Spaceman is more of a conversation-starting meditation on the human condition than a film made with an audience in mind. It is created as a work of art for the audience to experience.”

“Come to The Clever Alien Spider and watch Adam Sandler at his brooding best in this strange and heartfelt sci-fi drama. We hope he continues to strive for new heights.”

“Netflix’s feature films have some of the usual narrative flaws, such as communication system failures, corporate interference, and life-threatening disruptions, but they mainly involve marital discord and the fact that someone becomes too attached to a dream This is a story of wake-up call and redemption for a man who has lost sight of what is most important.” In a nutshell, that’s the limit of this charming but underpowered sci-fi drama. ”

“Aside from the physical demands of the role, ‘Spaceman’ doesn’t bring new shades to the brooding Sandler persona we’re already familiar with. [Director Johan Renck]The film leaves him literally stranded in space, and rather than giving us an awe-filled curiosity about space travel or marital discord or either, the movie just shrugs it off. I will have to leave. ”
Spaceman will be released on Netflix on March 1, 2024.
