The first of the month is usually when the majority of Prime Video’s new releases are added and that trend continues in March. March 1 will see over 60 movies coming to the streaming platform, offering something for users of all tastes while featuring some of the biggest stars and most acclaimed directors. For fans of the superhero genre, they can revisit both of Michael Keaton’s Batman movies on Prime. Tom Hanks stars in the excellent gangster movie Road to Perdition from Oscar-winning director Sam Mendes. There is also the star-studded apocalyptic comedy This is the End.
Prime Video is often better than most streaming services in adding older classics to its library and March 1 will feature some excellent movies from decades past. There is the epic war-time adventure movie The Great Escape, Martin Scorsese’s concert documentary on The Band in The Last Waltz, and Kevin Costner’s two excellent baseball movies Field of Dream and Bull Durham. The R-rated comedy Ricky Stanicky comes from Peter Farrelly and follows a trio of friends who for years have used a made-up friend as an excuse for getting out of commitments and getting some time to themselves. However, when their lie catches up with them, they have to hire an actor to play the fake friend. John Cena gets to embrace his comedic skills yet again as the eccentric and unpredictable actor while Zac Efron plays one of the friends.
Also arriving is the first movie in the Divergent series. The adaptation of the young adult books failed to be completed with the canceled fourth Divergent movie, but fans may be interested in checking out the first movie with its all-star young cast. The mystery movie Marlowe also comes to Prime with Liam Neeson stepping into the role of noir icon Philip Marlowe.

A Comedy Trilogy Is Complete
