The Christian singer was found dead at her home in Nashville on Thursday, a representative for the artist announced in a statement posted to Mandisa’s verified Instagram account. The cause of death is unknown, deputies said, but did not provide further details.
“Please keep her family and close friends in your prayers during this incredibly difficult time,” the rep added. “Mandisa was a voice of encouragement and truth to people around the world facing challenges in her life.”

Fellow Christian singer Natalie Grant paid tribute to her late friend on social media. “I just can’t find the words. When I found out yesterday that you passed away, I prayed to God that it wasn’t true. I remember making our Opry debut together. We were so I was excited. But I remember our conversation so vividly. You belonged there, Disa, you always belonged,” she wrote.
Grant said he was grateful for Mandisa’s “music, your honesty, and your testimony that has helped thousands of people find hope in Jesus.”
David Pearce, chief media officer of Christian radio station KLOVE, also expressed his condolences on Instagram. “Mandisa loved Jesus and used her unusually wide platform to speak about Him at every opportunity. Her kindness was great, her smile was great, her voice was big, but the size of her heart was There was no match for him,” he wrote in a post shared on KLOVE’s official social media page.
Pearce continued, “Mandisa was struggling, but she was vulnerable enough to share it with us, and it helped us talk about our struggles.
