Set in a world full of threats called monsters, Kafka Hibino aspires to join the Self-Defense Forces in order to defeat the monsters. “Let’s destroy the monsters together.”
Kafka swore with his childhood friend Anjo Minato. Over time, life circumstances forced them to go their separate ways, leading him to abandon his lifelong ambitions. He finds himself employed by Monster Sweeper, Inc., a professional cleaning company that specializes in cleaning up the aftermath of battles with monsters. Meanwhile, Mina Anjo is currently the commander of the Defense Force’s 3rd Division. As it stands, he isn’t worth fighting Kaiju with her.
At work, Kafka meets Rino Ichikawa, who is full of motivation. There is no room for failure in Reno’s undying determination to join the Defense Forces. His perseverance reawakens Kafka’s ambition to stand next to Mina and together protect humanity from monsters.
A dream frozen in time, thawed by a burning promise. But Kafka is unaware that an impending monster threat is unexpectedly approaching.
