Apple TV+ this week announced the production of a new series for its streaming catalog. The platform is partnering with Drake’s DreamCrew Entertainment to adapt William Gibson’s popular science fiction novel Neuromancer for television.
Sci-fi drama “Neuromancer” comes to Apple TV+
As shared by the company, the new drama series ‘Neuromancer’ is based on the book of the same name. The 10-episode first season, created by Graham Rowland and JD Dillard, will be produced by Skydance Television and Anonymous Content. DreamCrew Entertainment, the media company Drake founded in 2017, will co-produce the show.
“The series follows Case, a disfigured top-tier super hacker, as he and his partner Molly become embroiled in digital espionage and high-stakes crime. Molly is a mirror-eyed razor intent on corporate robbery. “A dynasty with untold secrets,” Apple said in a press release.
“Neuromancer” is considered one of the earliest and most respected works of the cyberpunk genre, winning multiple awards, including the Nebula Award, the Philip K. Dick Award, and the Hugo Award. This book is also the first in a trilogy in the same series, followed by Count Zero and Mona Lisa Overdrive.
Unfortunately, there are currently no details on when Apple TV+ subscribers will be able to watch the show.
