Remember last September when I told you that Apple’s FineWoven case for the iPhone 15 was the worst? It turned out to be so bad that Amazon told buyers it was “frequently returned.” Warning labels had to be placed on FineWoven accessories to warn people that they could be damaged.
My friend Faruk (who is actually a fan of FineWoven accessories for some reason) shared this label with me today on Threads. This warning label appears on all product listings for Apple’s FineWoven cases for iPhone 15. Amazon’s FineWoven MagSafe wallet listing is intact, at least for now.
The label says, “Most Returned Items: Check product details and customer reviews for more information about this product.”
Meanwhile, many third-party iPhone 15 cases have labels that say the exact opposite: “Customer typically keeps this item.”
Reviews for the FineWoven case on Amazon are mixed at best. Of course, there are those who say they love them, and there are those who proclaim that they are the worst thing Apple has released since that U2 album in 2014.
Another interesting data point is that the price of “used” FineWoven cases on Amazon has plummeted over the past few months. If you look at recent photos, you can’t say it’s amazing people like joanna stern.
