Avatar: The Last Airbender Viewers are giving their opinions on the new live-action series.
The series, which was released on Netflix earlier this week, is a remake of the acclaimed children’s animation of the same name, which was previously adapted into a critically criticized feature film by M. Night Shamran.
Avatar It follows the adventures of Anne (Gordon Cormier), a monk-like child who can control the four elements: water, earth, fire, and air. The original series aired on Nickelodeon from 2005 to 2008.
The series has received mixed reactions from fans, with much criticism focused on the use of CGI and green screen effects, as well as changes to the original plot.
“All in all, if you ever get a chance to see the original…watch the original,” one person wrote on X/Twitter. “Avatar is a beautiful manga full of life lessons and wonderful characters that will stay in your memory forever. If you want a watered-down version with poor CGI, the remake is the way to go. ”
Another commented: “I think it’s live action.” Avatar It’s not that bad, but of course it feels strange to know what happened in an animated show and change the story, and some CGI scenes make your surroundings look blurry and feel like you’re in a different room. Masu. ”

However, others were more positive about the visuals, with one writing that the CGI “responsible” for other weaker aspects of the show.
“People complain about Netflix’s CGI. Avatar It’s crazy. They often look absolutely amazing,” another fan wrote.

Earlier this week, Ian Owsley, one of the stars of the series, offered reassurance to fans concerned about the changes made to Sokka’s character from the original series.

“The animated show is really the heart of our live-action show. We weren’t trying to take anything away,” he said. “Obviously we took it out.” [sexist] There are elements, but he still has that attitude.
