On paper and in reality, The Traitors delivers the action, drama, challenges, and triumphs required for a great real-life competition. But while The Traitors US may be a hit today, the American version was controversial upon release.
Previous viewers of the show thought that adding an already established name to the mix would ruin the concept of building trust from Tabla Rosa. So what happens if all the competitors are already well-known names? Well, fans might find out in a year or so.
Will Courteney Cox appear on “Celebrity Traitors”?
On April 18, Deadline reported that the BBC was developing a celebrity version of The Traitors in the near future. Reports suggest that this version of the show will launch next year. Sources say the BBC is close to signing a deal with Studio Lambert, the UK and US production company for The Traitors.
Claudia Winkleman, who hosts the British version, will also host the celebrity version. The BBC is said to have high expectations for potential cast members as the show has many famous fans. Deadline pointed out that Friends’ own Courteney Cox appeared in a casting call video for the British version in April 2023.
The latest version of this show shouldn’t be all that surprising. As Deadline also recently reported, The Traitors overtook The Masked Singer last year to become the format’s highest-grossing new format worldwide. With the show’s growing popularity, fans may expect more adaptations soon.
