The evaluation process takes 10-30 business days
Beckett Collectibles announced on January 10 that the grading and appraisal company is expanding its services into the world of manga.
The company’s official page explains manga grading as follows:
Manga grading is the process of determining the condition and authenticity of manga publications from the following perspectives: dragon ball z and one piece to Demon slayer onwards. The grading process involves examining the physical characteristics of each volume to determine the appropriate grade for the manga’s condition. This will display a numerical grade and page quality rating on the label.
Commenting on the company’s decision to expand its services, Bill Sutherland, Head of Beckett Manga, added:
“Beckett continues the manga tradition that began with Beckett Anime & Manga magazine. The company’s entry into the world of manga grading will revolutionize the way manga collectors interact with their prized collections.” This is a testament to Beckett’s dedication to preserving and increasing the value of his collectibles so that collectors can have unwavering confidence in the quality and authenticity of their prized possessions. It’s proof.”
The company also noted the boom in manga sales since 2019, with sales reaching 35.7 million copies in 2022, according to a statement.
Beckett also offers custom label artwork for manga to rate, with anime and manga themes, especially with cherry blossom and speed line options.
Currently, this service costs USD 30 for standard grading and USD 50 for express grading.
