Last week, Mr. Dalton informed Mr. Biden’s senior staff of his plans to leave for a job on Apple’s communications team, the people said on condition of anonymity.
Olivia Allaire Dalton has worked with Biden for nearly 20 years, according to LinkedIn. Outside of government, Olivia Allaire Dalton previously served as vice president of communications for the Human Rights Campaign.
Apple is no stranger to hiring former government employees into its company. Apple’s environmental guru, Lisa Jackson, joined the company after leading the Environmental Protection Agency. Former Vice President Al Gore also served on Apple’s board for a long time until recently. And a decade ago, Apple was rumored to be eyeing former President Obama press secretary Jay Carney, who ended up taking a public relations role at Amazon.
