Bill Maher accused Hollywood of endangering children and called Disney an aphrodisiac for pedophiles.
The HBO host, 68, used his show Real Time with Bill Maher to talk about child safety, insisting that “it’s every adult’s job to protect children.”
He argued that Republican Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis’ attempt to crack down on Disney’s “creepy stuff” was wrong.
“As one of the few people in the public eye who didn’t have children at the end of their lives, someone has to tell me why I always have to advocate for children.” he said.
Maher went on to slam the drag queen story hour trend, saying it’s “time to admit” that it’s “more about queens than kids.”

Maher accused the left of being hypocrites when it comes to child safety.
“You find pedophiles in the Boy Scouts, in parsonages, in children’s television because that’s where the kids are,” he said.
“DeSantis wasn’t wrong. But we’re so tribal now that the left will overlook child abuse if someone from the wrong party denounces it.”
He then talked about how the drag queen story hour trend may be inappropriate for child viewers.
“Sure, kids love clowns, but do clowns need to have obligations?” he said. “And if you see your 5-year-old tipping at a bar under a sign that says ‘No Licking,’ you have to pretend to be cool in order to keep your Liberal ID card.” Wouldn’t it be?
“I’m sorry, but that’s not possible.”
Maher spoke about Nickelodeon’s documentary series “Quiet on Set,” which explores the culture of sexual misconduct.
He said this was a “hot topic” in Hollywood, but “the hypocrisy has been exposed”.
“As I’ve said before, wokeness is no longer an extension of liberalism. It’s more likely that you take something too far and the opposite happens,” he added.
“Are we teaching our children not to hate or criticize people who are different from them?” Great. I’m proud of how far we’ve come to do that. But at some point, inclusion turns into promotion. ”
The host likened depictions of things that are inappropriate for children to a “trap” because they normalize whatever happens.
“Contrary to progressive dogma, children are not miniature miniatures of older, wiser adults. They are idiots. They are gullible idiots who believe anything and just want to please adults. ,” Maher said.
“They don’t have a frame of reference, so they normalize whatever is going on. That’s why talking endlessly about gender to a 6-year-old is not only inappropriate, but what the law calls a trap. , which means enticing people to do something they wouldn’t normally do.
“If you don’t think gender issues are happening in schools, you haven’t watched enough TikTok videos.
“There’s been a certain kind of activist these days who’s calling heterosexuality old-fashioned, old-fashioned, boring, just minding their own business, lumping it in with patriarchy and sexism and racism. I want to say to my children, “Are you anything other than that?”
He added: “It seems to be a theme in a lot of children’s books these days, too.” I have never used the phrase “gay agenda.” Because I thought it was mostly nonsense. And most of it is nonsense.
“But the Disney Television Animation director said that after she was hired, “the showrunners were very welcoming to my not-so-secret gay agenda.”
DeSantis’ war with Disney began in 2022 when then-CEO Bob Chapek publicly criticized the governor’s policies regarding education, particularly gender identity and sexual orientation education for minors. Opposition to the bill escalated in earnest, with critics calling it a “don’t tell me you’re gay” law. ‘
In reaction to Disney’s diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI) policies, DeSantis began the process of stripping the company of its powers in Florida after Chapek’s comments.
Last month, Disney agreed to drop its lawsuit against DeSantis in a landslide victory for the new board that oversees the land surrounding the Walt Disney World Resort.
Wednesday’s settlement agreement includes Disney acknowledging that its 11th-hour agreement with the defunct Reedy Creek Improvement District is now invalid.
The Walt Disney Co. has announced this move to strengthen property rights and give the theme parks additional powers, as DeSantis appointed a new board of directors to oversee the area and make the corporation responsible for Orlando laws and taxes. I made a last effort.
