It’s no secret that MCU Marvel has been suffering from a complete failure of Phase 5 lately. For now, Marvel’s recovery depends entirely on Deadpool and Wolverine, which will be the studio’s only releases in 2024. However, it appears Marvel is trying to redeem itself, as Disney CEO Bob Iger has released a statement talking about the plans. About upcoming Marvel projects.
Marvel plans to release 2-3 movies and 2 shows a year
During the company’s quarterly earnings call on Tuesday, Bob Iger said Marvel will focus more on the quality of its content going forward. Strictly scheduled to release only 2-3 movies and 2 TV shows per year. Mr. Iger said in his statement:
“We’re going to slowly reduce our production, going from four TV series a year to maybe two, and we’re going to go from four to two, up to three movies a year.”
This sounds good, but there are problems. According to the company’s earlier roadmap, there are already four Marvel movies scheduled for release in 2025, following Deadpool and Wolverine. According to Marvel’s roadmap, “Fantastic Four”, “Thunderbolts”, “Captain America: Brave New World”, and “Blade” are scheduled to be released in 2025.
Not only that, but according to Marvel’s roadmap, there will be four more movies released in 2026. Avengers: Secret Wars. So if Marvel were to implement these changes, some of these projects would be delayed and I don’t think fans would be happy with that. Well, if Bob Iger makes a statement about Marvel’s release schedule, its execution is all but inevitable, so let’s see how this goes.
