Caprice is reportedly planning to sue Dancing on Ice for bullying by her former pro partner Hamish Gaman.
Dancing on Ice presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield revealed at the start of Sunday’s live show that Caprice and Hamish are no longer skating together but didn’t explain why, saying only that Hamish “remains part of our professional team,” adding that they “hopefully will see Caprice back on the ice next week.”
With no explanation given as to why the pair decided to “split up,” many “Dancing on Ice” viewers were quick to speculate as to what went wrong.
Someone tweeted: “Did we miss something guys? What happened between Caprice and Hamish? #DancingOnIce dramz,” while another responded: “Does anyone actually know what happened to Caprice and Hamish? This is the weirdest announcement ever.”
As the week went on, it was confirmed that Caprice has a new professional partner, Oscar Peter, while TV presenter Jeremy Vine suggested her and Hamish’s split was due to a “disastrous disagreement”.
Now, matters look set to escalate further, as The Sun reports that Caprice plans to sue Dancing on Ice over Hamish’s treatment.
A source told the paper: “She was giving it her all but felt it was never enough. He was relentless and basically gaslighting her.”
“His bullying wore Caprice down and she complained to senior management but nothing was done apart from calling on the boss.
“Caprice will not tolerate bullying in the workplace and has been advised that she has grounds for legal action. For now, she wishes to give her all to the show.”
As Caprice prepares to return to the rink, an ITV spokesperson denied the bullying allegations, saying: “We take any allegations of bullying extremely seriously but have never found any evidence of it on Dancing on Ice and strongly deny any suggestion to the contrary.”
