Movieguide® previously reported:
Dion revealed that he was diagnosed with SPS in December 2022, and lamented that his world tour was canceled because the disease affected his ability to sing and function. Since then, she has worked tirelessly to overcome her SPS, but little is understood about how the disease works or how to treat it, which still prevents her from returning to her stage.
“She works so hard, but she can’t control her muscles,” Dion’s sister Claudette told 7Jours last December. “What breaks my heart for her is that she’s always been disciplined. She’s always worked hard. Her mother always told her, ‘You’re going to do this right. “Yo,” he said.
“There is certainly in our dreams and in her dreams the idea of returning to the stage,” Claudette continued. “What state? I don’t know. Vocal cords are muscles, and the heart is a muscle. This is what’s coming to pick me up.”
Dion hopes I AM: CELINE DION will “raise awareness of this little-known condition.”
