Chelsea vs Everton – Live!
Chelsea know they must bounce back from another disappointing result when they host Everton at Stamford Bridge tonight. The Blues were held to a draw by Sheffield United in the previous game, and the momentum built by their dramatic win over Manchester United quickly fizzled out, with them now firmly facing another team in the relegation battle.
Mauricio Pochettino’s side are still searching for European football despite a very uncertain season. A win here would move Chelsea into sixth place, within three points of Newcastle, with a game still in hand. Enzo Fernandes and Axel Disasi have been ruled out of tonight’s game, adding to an already long list of absentees.
Everton have picked up four points from their last two games, allaying relegation fears to some extent. The Toffees are two points clear of the bottom three, but with two games in hand against Nottingham Forest and Luton, they will be desperate to take something from west London tonight. A busy summer begins at Stamford Bridge

Chelsea’s raw stars are in no hurry to find new clubs, even if the Blues need to sell them to raise quick cash this summer.
Conor Gallagher, Trevor Chalobah, Ian Maassen and Armando Broja could all be sold by Chelsea to ensure they avoid the threat of financial breaches.
Chelsea reportedly need to raise £100m by June 30th to include player sales in their 2023-24 financials.
Academy players represent ‘pure profit’ on the balance sheet and many young players within the squad are concerned that they will be at the front of the queue of players clubs are considering selling. There is. However, Gallagher, Chalobah, Maassen and Broja are understood to have insisted they would wait for the right opportunity.
Gallagher is thought to be worth between £45m and £50m. Tottenham tried to sign him last summer, with him hoping to move to a top-flight Premier League club.
The midfielder enters the final year of his contract this summer, but talks over a new deal have made little progress. The player hopes to be selected for England at Euro 2024 and is reluctant to discuss his future during the tournament.
Pochettino: “Sterling can play at home”
18:27 , matt velli
Mauricio Pochettino insists he is not afraid to face Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling at Stamford Bridge despite being booed on the bench against Leicester.
The 29-year-old has not started since a lackluster display before the international break, which saw him booed and jeered by large sections of the home crowd.
Sterling came on as a substitute in the games against Burnley and Manchester United, but was not featured in last Sunday’s game against Sheffield United.
Pochettino told reporters: “No, because we evaluate the performance of every player. I think we need to be fair or try to be fair. We gave Noni Maduke an opportunity to play.”
“And to put [Cole] Palmer finds his balance in another position. You know, we have to get [someone] I think it’s because the left side makes decisions based on how well the players are doing. That’s all there is to it.
“It’s not because of the situation, [that isn’t] It would make me change my mind. And I don’t think the team is suffering from this. This is only because we are analyzing the player’s form. And then you have to make a decision. ”
Chelsea extend contract
18:19 , matt velli
Chelsea have exercised the option to extend the long-term contracts of Enzo Fernandes and Myhailo Mudryk into their 30s.
Fernandes has eight years left on his £180,000-a-week contract until 2032, while Mudryk has seven years left on his £97,000-a-week contract until 2031, according to FA documents.
Fernandes will be 31 years old when his contract expires, and Mudryk will be 30 years old when his contract expires.
Chelsea signed Fernandes from Benfica in a £106.8m deal in January 2023, around the same time Mudryk joined from Shakhtar Donetsk for £88.5m.
It is unclear why Chelsea exercised the option to extend his contract when there was still time left on his contract.
Everton appeals for second deduction
18:06 , matt velli
Everton have lodged a formal appeal against the two-point penalty imposed on the club for breaching Premier League financial rules earlier this month.
The Toffees announced their intention to appeal last Monday, the same day the suspension was announced, and the club have now confirmed they have lodged an appeal.
The club has admitted breaching the Premier League’s Profitability and Sustainability Regulations (PSR) by £16.6 million in allowable losses over the assessment period up to the 2022-23 season.
The independent panel that imposed the sanction said in its reasons for its decision that the Premier League had originally sought a five-point penalty.
This was reduced to two by the committee after mitigating measures were taken into account, taking into account the fact that the club had received two penalties over the same period. Everton had a 10-point penalty for a previous PSR breach reduced to six points on appeal in February.
standard sports predictions

It’s difficult to predict Chelsea’s result with any confidence at this point, but Chelsea’s firepower should be too much for this Everton team.
The Blues have a great record at home and will be able to pick up another win here.
Chelsea won 2-1.

For Everton, Arnaud Danjuma, Dele Alli and Lewis Dobbin will once again be sidelined.
However, there could be a double boost in midfield – Amadou Onana and Idrissa Gueye should return.
James Garner and Dominic Calvert-Lewin both missed training last week with knocks but are likely to play.

Chelsea will be without Axel DiSasi and Enzo Fernandes tonight.
The pair take Mauricio Pochettino’s list of players missing from the squad to 11, while big doubts remain with Raheem Sterling and Robert Sanchez both sick.
Disasi had never missed a game through injury before joining Chelsea, but he has not trained since the 2-2 draw with Sheffield United, and neither has Fernandes.
Ben Chilwell is in ‘part-team training’ and could be suitable for a spot on the bench. Levi Colwill, Wesley Fofana, Reece James, Romeo Lavia, Christopher Nkunku and Leslie Ugochukwu remain injured.
Maro Gusto is expected to return after being rested on Sunday, joining the only senior defender Trevor Charova, Thiago Silva and Marc Cucurella in the back four.
Chelsea eleven predictions: Petrovich; Gast, Charova, Silva, Cucurella. Caicedo, Gallagher. Palmer, Mudriku, Maduke.jackson
