All Chloe Bailey wants is love. In her new single “FYS” (short for her NSFW title “Fk Your Status”), she sings that she wants a love that isn’t attached to someone’s fame or fortune.
“FYS,” which hit digital streaming platforms on Friday (March 1), marks Chloe’s first music release of 2024. The Grammy-nominated R&B star first teased her new single via X on Tuesday (February 27) by sharing a snippet of the song. “FYS. What do you think that means? If my guess is correct, I’ll drop.”
By the next day, the “In Pieces” singer revealed the track’s official artwork and title. On Wednesday (February 28), Khloe shared another snippet of “FYS” on her social media account, writing, “F–k your status, f–k your status / It doesn’t matter / Money, cars and diamonds / Don’t phase me, I had it/FK your status/I just, just wanna love you, baby/What do you want? Trap-esque Riding an electro R&B beat.
2023 has been a pivotal year for Chloe, who is one half of the Grammy-nominated duo Chloe x Halle, which she formed with her sister Halle Bailey. She released her debut solo studio album. in piecesThe song peaked at No. 119 on the Billboard 200 and included notable hits such as lead single “Pray It Away,” the semi-viral uptempo banger “Body Do,” and the controversial Chris Brown collaboration “How Does It Feel.” Contains the best songs. In support of the album, Chloe embarked on her 25-date tour across North America and Europe.
Of course, Khloe made her official solo debut in 2021 with “Have Mercy,” a raucous ode to derriere that peaked at No. 28 on the Billboard Hot 100.
