We’ve had fun experimenting with the AI-powered Circle to Search feature since it first arrived on Samsung Galaxy S24 and Google Pixel 8 phones, and we’ve got some new features coming in the near future. It seems possible.
According to a famous forecaster @AssembleDebug (via PiunikaWeb), a hidden snippet lurking in the Circle to Search code appears to be set to power the feature with the option to capture a portion of your screen and share it with others.
Sections of the screen can be selected by tap, circle, or doodle with “Circle to Search” to fine-tune the selected area. Currently, you can perform searches based on highlighted images or text.
Obviously what’s coming soon is something new. copy image and share image A button that pops up every time something is selected. This is effectively a quick and easy way to capture part of your screen, alongside Android’s existing screenshot options.

We don’t yet know when this will roll out to smartphones. Of course, there’s always the option that Google software engineers change their minds and decide not to add Circle to Search functionality after all.
However, considering that the source of this leak was able to get this feature to work (adding a new-looking blue handle to the side of the selection instead of white brackets), by the time this feature was introduced, It shouldn’t take that long. It is certainly so).
Circle to Search and various other AI features are gradually rolling out to older Pixel and Galaxy smartphones after debuting on the latest flagships. It’s not clear exactly what kind of hardware performance is required for the tool to run smoothly.
Google Pixel 9 and Samsung Galaxy S25 are also likely to get more artificial intelligence tricks over the next 12 months, with more AI running locally on the devices themselves as they become more powerful. There is a possibility.
