About Monkeyman
The actor played some intense action scenes in the movie. The trailer shows similarities with folklore, mysticism and the legend of Lord Hanuman as the protagonist wears a monkey mask to fight gangsters. The Monkey Man is based on the story of a man seeking revenge against corrupt leaders who murdered his mother. An underdog superhero who works at a fight club decides to stand up to those in power who oppress the weak and downtrodden.
Developers film for Monkey Man during COVID-19 pandemic
The actor-turned-director defied all odds to film his passion project. Deadline reported that Dev has faced some challenges during the coronavirus pandemic, including losing his chief due to a heart attack. He broke his leg two weeks before filming and also injured his hand during filming. The actor told the portal, “As you will see when you watch the movie, I have a wrap in my hand.”
The Monkey Man also stars Sharlto Copley, Pitobash, Vipin Sharma, Sikandar Kher, Sobhita Dhulipala, Ashwini Kalsekar, Aditi Kalkunte and Makarand Deshpande in important roles.
