Police are searching for a woman after an argument at a North Hollywood dog park escalated into a drive-by shooting.
Friday when shots were fired from a vehicle toward the dog park in the 5800 block of Whitnall Highway. That afternoon, Los Angeles police received a report of a fight between two groups of women.
Details of what led to the fight are unclear, but witnesses said it ended when a woman approached her car and threatened to shoot at the dog park.
One witness, who wanted to hide his identity for safety reasons, said a woman and children were standing in front of the woman’s car when she heard the threat.
She was like, “Look, I’m going to shoot.” At that point I decided to call the police and while I was on the phone with the police she started firing at the police towards the park. It was very scary. ”
Another witness said the gunman fired several shots into the dog park.
“She got in her car, said she was going to shoot the girls, drove off on Whitnall, put the gun out the window and said ‘pow, pow, pow’ three times,” Patricia Winstead said. said.
Despite multiple rounds, thankfully no one was hurt.
Los Angeles police said they are still searching for the shooter. She is believed to have fled the scene in a black Toyota RAV4.
