Endgame Gear OP1 8k: Price and specs

It’s quite compact, measuring 4.65 x 2.38 x 1.46 inches and weighing only 50.5 grams. Its small size is perfect for gamers and people with small hands who prefer a “claw” style grip.

Despite being a wired mouse, the OP1 8k felt incredibly light and free on the mousepad. The cable is made of flexible fabric and can be easily bent and moved like a shoelace. The OP1 8k stands out compared to other wired gaming mice because it doesn’t have the stiffness and stiffness of braided or rubber cables.
Overall, the OP1 8k has a minimal and simple design. Both black and white colors blend easily into any desk setup. If you want a gaming mouse that doesn’t have an over-the-top RGB gamer aesthetic, this is worth checking out. However, if you need a mouse with multiple utility buttons, the OP1 8k may not be right for you. Besides the two main top buttons, there are only two side buttons (on the left).

All buttons feel clicky right out of the box. The scroll wheel also has some feedback, with small bumps when scrolling and a soft click when pressed.
Please note that the CPI/DPI button is on the bottom of the OP1 8k. This can be a drawback for some gamers. I prefer it at the bottom so I don’t accidentally press it while gaming. However, if you want quick access to the CPI button, the bottom placement won’t work.
One particularly interesting feature of the OP1 8k is the hot-swappable button switch. I tried one of these and found the hot swap process to be very easy. The OP1 8k comes with clicky Kailh GX switches. The sound was great, but I prefer quiet mouse buttons, so I replaced the Kailh GX switches with a set of Huano Silent 50-60gf switches. This process took about 10 minutes from start to finish, and the OP1 8k still works and sounds great.
In addition to customization, the option to hot-swap the gaming mouse’s switches also improves durability and value for money. It’s common for mouse buttons to eventually become slimy, especially for gamers. With the OP1 8k, you don’t have to throw away your $75 mouse and just buy a new set of switches for $7.

OP1 I thoroughly enjoyed the game at 8k. The incredibly lightweight and flexible cable allows you to easily move it around the mouse pad even in high-octane games where every second counts. The skates on the bottom are buttery smooth, so there is almost no friction.
Since it’s a wired mouse, you don’t have to worry about delays or running out of battery. The polling rate is preset to 8000Hz, giving you the fastest possible performance out of the box. You can adjust the polling rate to 4000Hz, 2000Hz and even his 1000Hz to suit your gaming style.
I tested the OP1 8k in a variety of games using both the stock Kailh GX switch and the replaced Huano Silent switch. Both switches had great feel and performance.my aim and movement fortnite Fast and accurate, the OP1 8k never missed a single click.
The same goes for the side buttons. I like to assign evasive actions to the side buttons of my mouse, so agile performance is important for those buttons as well. The side buttons on the OP1 8k did not disappoint me. It was stiff enough that I didn’t accidentally click it, but it wasn’t so stiff that it delayed my dodge timing. Wrapped or Horizon: Zero Dawn. It’s the perfect sweet spot for precise movements in fast-paced games. The OP1 8k paired particularly well with the Endgame Gear KB65HE gaming keyboard.
The cable did not cause any problems during gameplay. The cable connector is bent slightly upwards where it meets the body of his OP1 8k, and the front end of the cable is slightly raised. This prevents the cable from getting caught in front of the mouse and minimizes resistance. I barely noticed the cable was there during a gameplay session. Because it’s so light and flexible, the OP1 8k is as close to wireless as it gets.
The only drawback I noticed during testing was heat management. The OP1 8k’s smooth, matte case can get a little hot during long, intense gaming sessions. Luckily, the OP1 comes with a set of stick-on grip skins for the sides of the mouse to help out a bit. However, the top of the mouse is the main area where I noticed heat building up. If you tend to have sweaty palms, a honeycomb style mouse may be a better choice.
Endgame Gear OP1 8k: Software
Endgame Gear OP1 8k has basic configuration tools that look pretty outdated, but it offers all the basic customization options you’ll need. You can change preset DPI options, adjust multi-click filters for each button, customize polling rate, and remap all buttons. You also have the option to turn Motion Sync and Slamclick filtering on or off.
The configuration tools may not be fancy, but they did the job well enough for me. I prefer to set the DPI to 1200, which is right between the two default preset DPI options. It was nice to be able to set my own DPI profile. If you’re left-handed, you also have the option to remap the buttons for “Left-handed Mode” in the “Button Mapping” tab.
