Almeria is home to one of the best theme parks for lovers of iconic films from the 60s and 70s, transporting visitors to another world.
In early April, members of the Friends of Almanzola embarked on a nostalgic trip to the Oasis theme park, formerly known as Mini-Hollywood, near the town of Tabernas.

The group of friends arrived around 11 a.m. and had the opportunity to wander through the meticulously recreated western town.
Here you can enjoy attractions such as gold mines, boot hill, museums and the variety of shops you would expect from an old western town.
There’s also a fascinating display of film equipment from the 1960s and 1970s, reminding you of the region’s golden film era.
The excitement of the day comes at noon, when crowds gather in the town square to watch one of the park’s famous cowboy stunt shows. The performance reenacted Jesse James’ final moments, including a gunfight, a dramatic fall, and a staged hanging that had audiences on the edge of their seats.
After the adrenaline-pumping show, most people head to the Yellow Rose Saloon to watch a can-can girl performance.

When you’re hungry, enjoy a buffet lunch at the Arizona restaurant, which seats over 300 people.
Opened in June 1997, the game reserve is now home to more than 800 species of plants and animals, spread over an area of more than 4,000 trees.
The central waterfall gives the reserve a picturesque atmosphere and underlines the park’s commitment to conservation and education as a member of the Iberian Association of Zoos and Aquariums.
More than just a day trip, the Friends of Almanzora’s visit to the oasis was an experience of the region’s rich heritage, which continues to make Almeria a beacon for filmmakers from all over the world.
