Farmer Wants a Wife fans are now convinced that Farmer Joe Bobin has a celebrity lookalike.
The 2024 series of the Channel 7 dating show began last weekend and former Canberra Raiders junior Joe, 33, is one of the farmers looking for love.
But viewers can’t help but comment on social media about who they think his celebrity lookalike is, leaving them distracted by one key detail.
After Joe went shirtless on a boat date to show off his muscular physique, fans were quick to compare him to none other than Wolverine actor Hugh Jackman.
They wrote, “He reminds me of Hugh Jackman – Wolverine-esque.” “He looks like a young Hugh Jackman!” Don’t you think he looks a bit like Hugh Jackman, I thought right away!
“Gives you a young Hugh Jackman vibe.” “Is it just me or has anyone else seen @thehughjackman here??”
Farmer Joe himself admits he has previously been compared to the muscular Australian Hollywood legend.
He told Yahoo! Lifestyle: “Actually, something like that has happened before. I used to dress up as Wolverine a lot, so it’s been around for a while.”
Sunday night’s premiere, hosted by Samantha Armytage, introduced viewers to Joe and his fellow farmers Tom, Bert, Dustin and Dean.
All five farmers are looking for love on the popular dating show, and it was recently revealed that a roster of eight singles was originally being considered.
Sources told New Idea that this is “the typical format for the show” and that the number of farmers announced before production is greater than the number that will ultimately be aired.
One of the Bachelorettes who was dumped, South Australian cattle and crop farmer Zac, revealed that his exit from the Greater SA show last month was “sometimes unintentional”.
However, the 28-year-old said he remains hopeful that he will find a mate through other means.
Other farmers ignored in the 2024 edition included Nick, 22, also from South Australia, and farmer Todd, 33, from Barnbur, New South Wales.
The 14th season of the hit reality show, set on farms in New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria, follows five young farmers looking for love.
