Garrison Brown’s memory lives on through his family, including his siblings, who always found special ways to keep him in their hearts.
It started with Garrison’s closest brother, Gabe Brown, who found a unique and moving way to pay tribute to his late brother and has since inspired others to follow suit.
All of Garrison’s brothers and sisters are inscribed with symbols that are special not only to them but to their siblings.
Tattooed ‘Sister Wives’ brothers remember Garrison Brown
Janelle Brown shared a photo from a night out with Gabe and her daughter, Savannah, simply writing in the caption that she was treating the pair to Korean BBQ.
However, keen observers noticed something other than food in the snapshot.
“Is that the ‘to the stars’ tattoo on Gabe’s arm? Such a lovely tribute to Garrison,” one user wrote, to which Janelle replied:
“Yes! A lot of kids got that line tattooed on them. It was one of Garrison’s favorite movies as a child and even as an adult.”
The mother of six is referring here to a quote from the film Dragonheart.
“To the stars, Bowen, to the stars.”
Garrison’s tragic death
Garrison died of an unarmed shooting on March 4.
It was later discovered that his mother, concerned about his well-being based on recent text messages and a history of suicidal tendencies, had asked one of her children to go check on Garrison.
Gabe agreed and then discovered his brother’s body.
Anyway, overall it’s awful.
Two months after the tragedy, many in the Brown family have expressed their condolences to the 25-year-old.
Garrison would have turned 26 a few weeks after his death, and his mother celebrated his birthday in April.
“Happy birthday, love. We miss you so much today. I can’t believe you’re no longer here,” Janelle wrote on Instagram at the time, along with a whistled version of “Happy Birthday.”
“We talked a lot about you today. We went to dinner at Texas Roadhouse (your favorite place),” Brown continued.
“I still feel you close to me sometimes, and I’ll be happy to see you again when my journey is over.”
After Garrison Brown committed suicide, several of his siblings referenced the “Dragonheart” quote in tributes to their brother on social media.
For example, Leon Brown, Meri and Kody Brown’s only son, shared a selfie with Garrison and included this quote in the caption:
Mykelti Padron also left a message for her brother in her own Instagram post, writing: “Have fun with the stars, little brother. I miss you.”
What about Janelle?
In recent weeks, Janelle has been posting about life without the son she believed in.
After celebrating Mother’s Day, the TLC personality reflected on the bittersweet event.
“Mother’s Day was an incredibly emotional day for me. It has never been a big holiday for me. My kids have always shown up for me and made me feel special every day, especially now that they are adults and no longer at home. But this year was different,” she wrote.
Janelle added: I love you, I want to see you every day.
May Garrison Brown rest in peace.
