When you think of productivity software, Microsoft Office immediately comes to mind. Like it or not, the world runs on Microsoft software, and whether you’re writing a letter, creating a complex spreadsheet, or sending an email, people around the world rely on Office. It is a being. No matter what task you’re doing, if it’s done in the office, there’s a good chance it’s done thanks to Microsoft Office.
That said, Microsoft Office has also long been an expensive option. So it’s probably no surprise that Microsoft introduced its subscriptions. However, while it may be worth it for those who use it regularly and want all the latest features, for those who don’t, the $7 per month can add up quickly. It’s not the latest version of Office, but compared to signing up for the Microsoft 365 subscription suite, which costs $7 per month or $70 per year for individuals, StackSocial’s offer is a great deal. You can use the free online version of Microsoft Office, but it is a better choice as it is missing some features. Apple users should note that Outlook is now available as a free app for Mac.
Important things to note: You get a one-time use code for one computer. This means that you cannot download these apps to multiple devices. This means that if you upgrade to a new computer or your current computer breaks down, there’s a good chance you won’t be able to transfer your suite. These licenses also lack some of the additional benefits you get with a 365 subscription, such as OneDrive cloud storage and cloud-based AI features like Microsoft Copilot. Additionally, these apps should work as long as your computer works, but your Mac’s license has reached the end of its lifecycle. This means that Microsoft support for this version of Office has ended. Windows users will receive extended support until October 14, 2025. There’s also the risk that Microsoft could end the license at any time, but I’ve been running other versions of Office from StackSocial since early 2022 and haven’t had any issues yet.
