Washington [US]June 8: Gossip Girl reboot star Whitney Peak has teamed up with Phoebe Dynevor in an exciting collaboration for Sony Pictures’ untitled shark thriller.
The film, which will be directed by Tommy Wirkola, who also helmed the action-packed Christmas movie Violent Night, will begin shooting in Melbourne in July, The Hollywood Reporter can confirm.
Plot details are being kept a closely held secret, but the film is said to revolve around a community faced with the terrifying challenge of being attacked by sharks during a hurricane.
With a combination of thrilling suspense and tense action, audiences can look forward to an adrenaline-packed cinematic experience.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project is being produced by Hyperobject Industries’ Adam McKay and Kevin Messick, known for working on acclaimed films such as ‘Don’t Look Up’ and ‘The Big Short.’
Whitney Peak rose to fame playing Zoya Lott in the Gossip Girl reboot, and also starred in Hocus Pocus 2, opposite Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Kathy Najimi, which became one of the most-watched streaming movies on Disney+, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Peake will also star in Signature Films’ highly anticipated project, the upcoming action-packed film Trap House, co-starring alongside Dave Bautista and Sophia Lillis.
