Netflix has withdrawn the release date for Parasyte: The Grey. This long-awaited series is a new adaptation of Hitoshi Iwaaki’s legendary manga series of the same name.
Netflix released a motion poster along with the release date and the names of the lead cast. Although the story is set in a new location and new characters, the main motto of the manga remains the same in the drama.
Directed by director Yeon Sang-ho (known for “Train to Busan”), the series is scheduled to be released on April 5, 2024. Jeon So Hee will play the lead role in ‘Parasyte: The Grey’. The plot follows a group of people called “Team Grey” who fight against parasites.
“Parasyte The Gray” Cast: Jeon So Hee, Koo Kyo Hwan, Lee Jong Hyun and others
The Netflix series features an all-star cast including Jeon So Hee, Koo Kyo Hwan, and Lee Jong Hyun. Jeon Sun-ae takes on the role of Soo-mi, who tries to find her perspective through her newfound symbiosis with her parasite.
Koo Kyo-hwan plays the role of Gang-woo, who goes on a journey to find his sister. Meanwhile, Lee Jung-hyun, the third member of the team, plays Joon-kyung. He is the leader of an anti-parasite group.
Manga artist Iwaaki said in an interview, “I’m most excited about the fact that this is a new story.” I can be both the author of the original manga and a member of the audience experiencing the thrill and awe. When I think back to when the original manga was made into an anime in Japan, I realized that for me, the manga was like a “child” that was born from my work in a small room, and the anime and live-action movie were born. It’s like a “grandchild” born after that. My child goes out into the world, meets many people, and gains wisdom, experience, and technology. I am very happy that another “grandchild” was born in Korea. I believe that a “new story” that takes place in a different place will lead us to a world beyond our imagination. ”
“Parasyte: The Grey” will be released on Netflix on April 5th.
