It’s that time of year again. Many students graduate from university and aim to enter the professional world. Appraisal season has arrived, and many experts are attracting attention. In either case, a crack at the LinkedIn game could probably get you miles ahead in making connections, generating leads, and landing your dream job.
We all have some knowledge of how to use LinkedIn, but here are some tips and lesser-known features to enhance your professional work.
open and ready for work
When looking for a job, turn on LinkedIn’s “Open to Work” feature to let potential recruiters know you’re in the market.
To turn on this feature, go to your profile and select the blue[開く]Click the button.in the drop-down menu[新しいジョブの検索]Click. A pop-up will open asking for details such as the job title you are interested in, location, and employment. Enter these and save.

When it comes to work
Hide your identity while searching
Scouting potential recruiters is an important step, and LinkedIn is the go-to place to do it. However, you often don’t want others to know that you’ve searched. If that’s the case, you don’t have to worry anymore because LinkedIn’s private mode is just for you. To do this, go to Settings, select Public Settings, and click Private Mode under Profile Display Options.
Secure your connection
Competition can be fierce out there, and you may not want others to know about your connections and plunder them. To prevent this, go to Settings, select Visibility, and toggle connection visibility on or off as desired.
Save search results
Job hunting can be a tedious process that requires you to do the same searches every day, which can become tiresome over time. To get around this, you can simply save your search results so you don’t have to enter them manually each time. In addition to saving, you can also choose to receive email reminders of new results for your saved searches.
Add a little bit of yourself
It’s always better to add a personal touch to your professional profile and make it clear that you mean business. One is to make sure your profile is 100% complete. You can also add voice prompts using the name pronunciation feature. Make sure your name is not pronounced incorrectly. For this, go to your profile and[編集]Click. To do this,[名前の発音を追加]Go to. This will allow anyone to know the correct pronunciation of your name by tapping the speaker.
Ask someone else to write a recommendation
It always helps when someone writes you a good recommendation. However, it rarely happens out of the blue and often has to be requested.
So just go to the Recommendations section and click on “Ask for Recommendations” and you can choose your connection and choose the type of working relationship you have with that person. The other person will then receive a notification. Write a recommendation.
Take advantage of graduates
It can be good to connect with former classmates and colleagues. This not only lets you know what they’ve been up to lately, but also helps you get new leads.
Use LinkedIn Groups to your advantage
Most of the LinkedIn groups you’re likely to come across don’t seem to be all that useful. However, one advantage is that members of the same group can text each other. So join groups that interest you, related to the job you’re looking for or want to do, to further connect with members. You may meet potential recruiters there.
