Hollywood Casino York was fined $50,000 for allowing three minors to access its gaming floor.
Earlier this month, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board approved a consent agreement submitted by the commission’s Office of Law Enforcement Counsel that resulted in fines against Hollywood Casino York, a news release said.
The 16-page agreement outlines that two of the men presented false identification, but the third, a 20-year-old, was allowed into the country with a valid military ID.
Reuben Warren, executive vice president and general manager of Hollywood Casino York, could not be reached for comment.
The consent agreement states that the following occurred:
Employee in training says he used a fake driver’s license to gamble
The 19-year-old man, who was training to become a dealer, told his trainer that he had previously entered the casino and gambled many times. He used a fake driver’s license, he said.
The trainer immediately reported it to his superiors. The human resources manager obtained the man’s valid driver’s license and confirmed that he was a minor.
The man had obtained a player card using a fake ID. As a result of the investigation, the existence of a card in the man’s name with a fake date of birth was confirmed. The casino discovered he had played on two dates in December 2021 and one date in February 2022.
The incident was not caught at or near the time it occurred, but the casino reported it as soon as it was discovered.
The man lost his job offer.
Underage woman arrested for playing slot machine
On December 4, 2021, a 20-year-old woman entered a casino with two companions and played on three slot machines before staff members discovered she was underage.
The woman was standing behind her companion who was trying to play a table game when staff asked for identification. She said the woman presented military identification and that she was 20 years old.
The staff member asked her how she got onto the gaming floor. She explained that she provided the same military identification to the guard.
The woman was taken from the casino.
Underage man enters casino multiple times
On June 3, 2022, security guards allowed a 20-year-old man into the casino despite presenting a false ID and a warning that the facility’s VeriDocs system was not genuine.
The man obtained a player card and ordered an alcoholic drink at the bar.
A security guard stopped him as he was coming out of the bar and took him to a security podium where he had his ID card rescanned. Once again, it was registered as a fake.
He left the premises after being evicted.
Springettsbury Township Police later charged the man with possession of alcohol as a minor.
Hollywood Casino York has banned a man from all facilities at the Hollywood Casino in central Pennsylvania until his 22nd birthday.
Although he was evicted, the man was allowed to enter the Hollywood Casino York with valid identification for two days until his 22nd birthday, where he gambled. His third time, the man was caught at a bar, handed over eviction papers and escorted out the door.
According to the investigation, it was discovered that the man entered the casino three times in 2021 while underage.
Hollywood casino york first consent agreement
This is the first consent agreement for Hollywood Casino York since the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board issued a Category 4 slot machine license on December 18, 2019.
The casino opened on August 12, 2021.
As part of the agreement, the casino says it will develop policies and provide training, guidance and reinforcement to its employees to prevent similar incidents in the future.
