Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences ceremony closes local roads
The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences is working with the City of Los Angeles to plan road closures around the Dolby® Theater at Ovation Hollywood to ensure public safety, enhance security strategies, and streamline production for the 96th Oscar®. has been finalized.
From 12:01 a.m. Thursday, February 29, 2024 until 6 a.m. Wednesday, March 13, 2024, Hollywood Boulevard will be completely closed from Orange Drive to Highland Avenue. This temporary measure is being taken to facilitate construction of press risers and a pre-show stage along the iconic Oscar red carpet.
As a result of these closures, the Los Angeles Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) will begin rerouting bus transportation. In addition, subway trains are set to bypass Ovation-Hollywood Station from the last scheduled train on Saturday, March 9th until the first scheduled train after 6 a.m. on Monday, March 11th.
Additional road and footpath closures will be in place for various periods from Sunday, March 3 through Oscar® Sunday, March 10. The 96th Oscar Awards, scheduled for Sunday, March 10, 2024, will be held at the Dolby® Theater at Ovation Hollywood. The event will be broadcast live on ABC at a revised 7pm EDT/4pm PDT, reaching viewers in more than 200 territories around the world. As Hollywood prepares for this grand celebration of cinematic excellence, this temporary inconvenience serves as a necessary measure to ensure a seamless and safe Oscar production.
