HOLLYWOOD, Fla. (WSVN) – A Hollywood man says he is heartbroken after losing his beloved dog in an animal attack.
Abe Masleh’s home surveillance camera captured every terrifying moment he struggled with his 3-pound Shih Tzu, Luna, on Sunday morning.
“Come on! Let me in, let me in! Hey!” Masleh can be heard shouting in the video as he tries to shoo the aggressive dog away.
Masleh said her neighbor’s two pit bulls came to her home in the area of Lowry Avenue and North 26th Street and followed her pets.
Mr. Masle chased the large canine with a piece of wood in his hand, but was unable to save Luna. He said one of the pit bulls took her life.
“It’s not just a loss for me. It’s a loss for the whole family, but it’s a big loss,” Masleh said. “I know some people say she’s a dog, but she’s part of her family. That’s not right and it didn’t need to be. Unfortunately it happened that way, but it didn’t need to be. There was no.”
Hollywood Police say the pit bull’s owner has been issued a citation.
