Vacant buildings were demolished in advance of construction of the Apple Valley Sprouts Farmers Market.
Heavy equipment operators quickly demolished the 1,307-square-foot home on Bear Valley Road on Wednesday, which was built about 60 years ago.
As for the construction schedule for the new Sprouts, Town of Apple Valley spokeswoman Sarah Krieg told the Daily Press that town officials expect to get grading plan approval next week.
Krieg added that he will keep the Daily Press updated on construction of the new shopping center, which will include Sprouts Farmers Market and Raising Cane Chicken Fingers.
Both businesses will be housed in a 40,000-square-foot shopping center on the south side of Bear Valley Road, directly across from El Pollo Loco in Apple Valley Town Center.
The commercial property, with two or three additional pads, is located to the east adjacent to the proposed secondary development site, which includes a demolished residential site.
Apple Valley’s freestanding Sprout will be the second facility to be built in the High Desert.
