In Absolute Power Free Comic Book Day In this version, Zur-En-Arrh/Failsafe Batman was clearly under the control of Amanda Waller, or arguably acting very much in concert with her.
After getting hold of basically all the prisoners, they are running experiments on the prisoners.
It didn’t work very well.
In fact, it hasn’t been that way for quite some time.
Even though it’s part of Amanda Waller’s broader plan.
Considering what happened today Batman #148, what happened? As revealed by today’s Riddler episode Batman #148, this wasn’t the only experiment with supervillains that Zur-en-Aarr was conducting.
He worked with Daniel Capito, Batman’s mentor, who helped separate Zur-en-Ar from Bruce Wayne. And why this Zur-en-Ar Absolute Power…
…It was a bit of a mental meltdown when Batman and Jason Todd were able to use it against themselves. Maybe someone found a use for it after it was decommissioned? Like Amanda Waller. Batman #148?
So that’s all we know so far, but what else has Bleeding Cool heard? Yes, Amanda Waller has indeed inherited a destroyed Zur-en-Aarh/Failsafe hybrid, and there are a number of supernaturally gifted individuals on staff, including Time Commander John Starr, who has been called upon to do the same to repair Zur-en-Aarh by returning from the dead and fixing the unfixable.
Zur-en-Ar teams up with Amanda Waller to gain access to other Amazo robot bodies and download parallel backup personalities of Zur-en-Ar hosted by other Batmen from other dimensions…
I mean, he’s not wrong, right?
