Third quarter report
The Warriors are on the road, but they don’t show any signs of attrition. They have a 98-75 lead over the Wizards and are in complete control.
If the Warriors continue to play like this, their record will soon improve to 30 wins and 27 losses. Meanwhile, the Wizards will enter the deadline with a 9-49 record unless they turn things around (and quickly).

What you need to know
The Warriors enjoyed a three-game homestand, but they’ll have to dust off their road jerseys soon. They will face the Washington Wizards at Capital One Arena on Tuesday at 7pm ET. If the odds are to be believed, the Warriors are looking at one of the easiest games of the year.
Sunday’s game for the Warriors was tied 61-61 at halftime, but unfortunately for the Warriors, it didn’t stay that way. They suffered a huge blow, losing 119-103 to Denver. Unfortunately, the Warriors continued their disappointing trend against the Nuggets, with the Warriors losing seven straight.
Meanwhile, the Wizards’ recent rough patch got a little rougher on Sunday after losing 11 straight games. They lost to Cleveland 114-105.
Despite the loss, the Wizards had several players rise to the challenge and make notable plays. Jordan Poole was probably the best with 31 points, 5 assists, and 5 rebounds. In fact, this is the most points Poole has scored all season.
The Wizards struggled to get the ball back on offense, finishing the game with just four offensive rebounds. They’re 1-11 when they can’t control their glass like that.
Golden State’s loss dropped their record to 29 wins and 27 losses. It was Washington’s 14th straight home loss, dropping its record to 9-48.
This is a contest where possession is likely to be a big factor. The Warriors didn’t give up the ball easily this season, averaging just 13.9 turnovers per game. However, the Wizards are averaging just 13.5 turnovers per game, so it’s not like they’re struggling in that department. Given these competing strengths, it will be interesting to see how their conflict plays out.
The Warriors last faced the Wizards in December 2023, winning 129-118, which was a solid win against the Wizards. The rematch could be a little tougher for the Warriors since the team doesn’t have home court advantage this time. Let’s see if changing the venue makes a difference.
