Veo Technologies, a global leader in AI-powered sports recording and analytics, has announced that Super League club Huddersfield Giants will trial its cutting-edge video solutions ahead of the 2021 BetFred Super League season.
The trial marks Veo’s first foray into the sport of rugby league, with the Huddersfield Giants introducing the innovative technology into their pre-season training and academy system.
Used by over 4,000 sports clubs in over 74 countries, Veo Technologies is a portable, affordable video solution that enables sports teams to record and analyze matches and training sessions without the need for a camera operator. Veo’s software uses AI technology that allows the camera to track the ball, creating a complete, watchable recording of the match. Users can then study the match and cut out highlights to share with players.
The Huddersfield Giants’ use of the technology will enable the club’s first-team coaches to review training and match footage of young players to chart a path to the first team, and the club will also provide valuable feedback to Veo, enabling the company to further develop the technology for use in rugby league – the platform is already widely used in soccer and rugby union.
