I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! So far, 12 Australian celebrities have descended on the jungles of South Africa to compete to be crowned the 2024 winner.
And the latest celebrities to take on the grueling challenge have revealed whether they will take part in certain traditions of the show.
Stars are weighing whether to consider getting naked in an outdoor shower, and one surprising celebrity admitted she’s open to doing so.
Last year, stars including Domenica Calarco, Esha Scott, Ian Ditko Dixon and Harry Garside stripped down to take a shower in scenes aired on reality show Ten.
But it looks like the 2024 cast won’t be following in their footsteps, as they have vowed to boycott the tradition of nude jungle showers.
Before heading into the jungle, influencer Skye told news.com.au: [will I shower naked]my partner was like, “You’re a mother!”
“I definitely only shower in a bikini. I don’t think people need to see that. I keep mine to myself.
Retired Ironwoman Candace, 39, agreed, insisting on the TV show that she plans to stay comfortable in a bathing suit while showering.
Former Studio 10 host Tristan, 41, seemed more open to the idea before admitting that he doesn’t even feel comfortable showering at home if his children are in the bathroom.
But Dennis Drysdale, 75, who entered the camp as an intruder on Monday, was the only celebrity to say he might take off his clothes, having become accustomed to outdoor showers while living in a caravan.
“When we were building our house, we lived in a caravan with an outdoor shower,” she said.
“All the squiggles came out and crawled into the shower. The first night it was bad, but by the third night I had names for them all.”
“But if someone saw me nude, they’d probably scream. ‘I’m a celebrity…get me out of here,'” she joked.
Last year, a number of celebrities who aren’t afraid to bare it all in front of the camera were seen stripping naked for a shower on the show.
Married At First Sight star Domenica Calarco later revealed that all of the contestants had taken their clothes off in the shower at least once.
“Everyone has a birthday suit, but mine just happened to be in the jungle,” she told news.com.au at the time.
“I ended up showering only three or four times, but I was taking off my shirt and changing clothes in front of the whole camp. You get very careless.
She also spoke about co-star Peter Hellier taking a nude shower before he found out the scene was going to be broadcast and decided to cover it up.
Their campmate Ian “Ditko” Dixon also gave insight into the steps they take to shower naked in the jungle.
He explained how he uses the microphone pack and Akubra hat as a signal to other stars to let them know that the shower is occupied.
“If someone looks down to go to the shower and leaves the Akubra facing up with the microphone in, that means they’re in the shower and shouldn’t be in there.” That’s code. “It was,” he said.
