Khaing Ong has revealed an astonishingly long list of contraband he has smuggled into the South African jungles.
The MasterChef star became the sixth star athlete to be excluded from the camp on Tuesday, but reflected on his time in the jungle, which is known for its harsh conditions.
He told how he managed to sneak a surprising amount of luxury goods into the camp to make his stay there more comfortable, before being discovered and confiscated.
Known for his culinary skills, Khan tried to sneak plenty of snacks into camp for himself and his co-stars to enjoy, rather than just a meager meal of rice and beans.
He told Chattle: “I drank coffee, I drank hot chocolate, I drank sugar, salt and powdered milk.” There was protein powder, pre-workout, spice mix, electrolytes, BCAAs, and lots of chocolate.
“We had candy, we had nuts, we had so many different types of nuts. All day long we were just dropping nuts into people’s hands. When we were cooking, we were trying to make it even better. It was like adding spice to something.”It was delicious. ‘
Despite its best efforts, it ultimately admitted that the contraband had been removed in accordance with Network Ten Show’s strict rules.
He said: “When I had to get rid of contraband, I literally threw everything away. I was like everyone else, only eating what I could eat. It was enough to just put it back.”I wasn’t born with pink hair. ”
Candice Warner, the second star to be booted from the show, also revealed that she successfully smuggled a pack of sweets into the jungle.
Khan became the sixth star to be eliminated from the reality show on Tuesday, as excitement builds for the final, which is scheduled to air later this month.
When the talented chef left, the group shared their concerns about how to cope with cooking after relying on his culinary talents.
In his retirement interview, Khan said he enjoyed getting creative in the camp kitchen.
“Most of the meals were made with ingredients I had on hand. How do I get maximum flavor with minimal ingredients or brown things for more flavor?” ” he said.
“A lot of people helped out. I had a sous chef every night. Everyone was happy for me to do it because this is my happy place.”
“I loved the experience. My campmates were amazing and they will be friends for life,” Khan added.
