Jinger Duggar aims to inspire people.
And we try to keep a straight face while she does it.
According to Amazon, the former reality TV star will be releasing a sequel to “Becoming Free Indeed: My Story of Disentangling Faith from Fear,” a memoir Duggar wrote last year that delved into her complicated childhood and relationship with her parents.
Prior to this book, Ginger and her husband, Ginger, wrote a book called The Hope We Have: Finding Peace in God’s Promises.
How can you top such a blockbuster?
On January 14th, Ginger will release People Pleaser: Breaking Free from the Burden of Imaginary Expectations, which is being described on Amazon as a sort of self-help book.
“Are you good at pleasing people? Can you gauge how other people’s approval has affected your heart and mind, your faith and relationships, your habits and identity?” Amazon’s synopsis reads.
“In People Pleaser, New York Times bestselling author Ginger Volo shares her personal journey from always seeking approval from others and how she discovered her true self.”
News of her release comes shortly after it was revealed that Jinger is selling her Los Angeles home.
Maybe it’s to move back to Arkansas, but maybe it’s to buy a bigger house with the advance he’ll have received for the book.
Continued from the memoir’s Amazon synopsis:
Jinger Duggar Vullo spent her childhood and early adulthood conforming to the expectations of others and never took the time to discover who she really was. It wasn’t until she asked herself, “Who am I?” that she realized she was a people-pleaser.
This realization led her on a journey of self-discovery that ultimately led her to turn to God for approval and self-worth.
Amazon says Jinger hopes the book “will inspire others to embark on a similar journey to freedom,” noting that the Duggars are at least a little estranged from their evil parents.
At the very least, she was highly critical of the church in which she grew up.
Amazon’s summary concludes:
Through her faith and trust in God, Ginger began to break free from the need for approval and discover true freedom. This book is a guide for anyone who struggles with the need to please others and is seeking to discover their true identity and purpose in life. Learn:
- Discover the beauty of community and how we were created to entertain others.
- Recognize sin and how it impedes our ability to maintain community with one another.
- Diagnose yourself brutally honestly, but without judgment.
- Understand who you are in God’s eyes.
