Kelly Oubre Jr. had fun with celebrities in the front row of Madison Square Garden ahead of Game 1 at the storied venue.
Oubre said, “They’re going to give that $100,000 to the celebrities,” which is expected to generate even more excitement and boos from the celebrities. [worth of] Free tickets for just being there and not paying attention to the game. That’s what they’re doing. ”
It’s true that some of the celebrities attending the game don’t know anything about the NBA, but others do and are paying attention to what Oubre has to say.
New York’s Rangers hockey team will not grant additional free tickets to models Emily Ratajkowski and Irina Shayk after they were ejected from the Knicks’ 100-98 comeback game in early November.
Such celebs are clearly not interested in games.
But Ben Stiller certainly is.
The actor sarcastically responded to Oubre’s comments about “X” by asking, “Are the Knicks still in the playoffs?”
Actor Jerry Ferrara was among the disgruntled celebrities. I made multiple posts on X About what Oubre said.
His first post was: “Oh, is this guy wrong, hahaha? I think this is code for, ‘That place is going to be the loudest place I’ve ever heard in my career.’
Adding, “When the team is bad, we show up and say it out loud. I can’t imagine that many people showed up during the process.”
Ferrara continued, “To the players of the Sixers: Please, keep doing interviews, keep talking shit. We all know you have an extensive resume in the playoffs over the last 10 years. ”
His final comment was, “Oubre acts like he doesn’t like playing in front of celebrities (lol). To me. This guy knows it’s going to mess up the yard.”
