Tribeca Festival announces 2024 feature lineup, kicks off with world premiere of Hulu documentary Diane von Furstenberg: a responsible womandirected by Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Trish Dalton.
Other highlights of this year’s feature lineup include the world premiere of a documentary about Liza Minnelli (Liza: A truly amazing, absolutely true story), Harry Belafonte (follow harry, explores his life and legacy through the artists and activists who continue his work. Marking Viewpoints’ multidisciplinary division entering the competition for the first time, this year’s festival’s feature lineup includes 103 feature films from 114 filmmakers from 48 countries, selected from over 13,000 submissions. It consists of The festival will feature 86 world premieres, two international premieres, six North American premieres, and eight New York premieres. Half of the films in competition are directed by women, and 35 percent of the 2024 festival’s feature films are directed by Black, Indigenous, or people of color filmmakers. Thirty of his films in this year’s competition were directed by first-time filmmakers, and his 25 directors in the 2024 lineup will return to Tribeca.
The 2024 Tribeca Festival is the 23rd edition of the annual New York event and is scheduled to take place in New York from June 5th to 16th.
