Loki Executive producer Kevin Wright is leaving Marvel Studios to focus on original films and TV shows. The Hollywood Reporter News broke that the longtime MCU producer was leaving the company, and there’s no ill will towards Disney or Marvel — Wright simply felt it was time for a change after the launch. Loki As seasons 1 and 2 hit the world, fans of the character and longtime Marvel Studios fans celebrated Tom Hiddleston’s series. Rotten Tomatoes, Loki is one of the most critically acclaimed Marvel TV shows in recent years.
Much of that success came directly from Wright. ThursdayThe article explains that he wrote the initial 30-page proposal. LokiWhen Marvel Studios approached them about developing a TV show in 2018, producer Hiddleston’s plans for the series included many of the beloved elements people admired, such as TVA and The Void, meaning the MCU will be saying goodbye to a character who played a major role in bringing the Disney+ era back into fans’ good graces.
“I am incredibly proud of my contributions to the MCU and grateful for my time at Marvel Studios and The Walt Disney Company,” Wright said in a statement. “The industry has changed dramatically in the nearly decade I’ve been there, and I can no longer ignore my desire to independently produce original film and television shows. I send my love and gratitude to everyone at Marvel Studios.”
Deadpool 3 gets a major boost with the introduction of Loki

Wright couldn’t say much to ComicBook about the upcoming film, but he’s proud that Loki’s story was so fascinating that it’s being picked up and expanded on elsewhere.
“I think everything we do here sets the stage for rich storytelling elsewhere,” Wright said. Loki The team is excited and excited about the possibilities of continuing to tell stories with TVA. I always think of TVA as a time-based, multiverse version of SHIELD. It can be used in different places to tell different cool stories.”
Loki’s designer also wants to see Thor again
Wright may be leaving Marvel, but he, like many fans, would love to see Loki and Thor together again. The executive producer told Comic Book Phase Zero Podcast about Season 2 LokiDuring the conversation, Wright explained how things could be different the next time Thor meets his time-traveled brother. The two have been through a lot while they were apart, so it could be very comforting for audiences to see them together again. And while the producer can’t see it from behind the scenes, he’s rooting for it nonetheless. Check out what else he told us below!
“I always hope that one day someone will tell that story. [Loki’s] “They’re so different, and Thor is so different now,” Wright said in an interview, “and I think that’s what’s interesting about them. In my opinion, they’re weirdly different, but I think there’s a deep inner understanding between them, and I think that’s going to be a really beautiful and cool thing.”
