It seems like it runs in the family. On Tuesday, New Line and Warner Bros. released the first trailer for the upcoming thriller. watchers. The film was produced by thriller master M. Night Shyamalan, but this time his daughter Ishana Night Shyamalan is directing.
watchers Dakota Fanning stars as Mina, a 28-year-old artist stranded in the woods of western Ireland. She quickly finds shelter, but it comes at a price. She and the other strangers living in her shelter are stalked and watched every night by a mysterious, invisible creature.
This certainly seems like a powerful metaphor for the modern panopticon of mass surveillance and social media. There are always twists and reveals in the movie, but the trailer is already filled with creepy images like a winged skeleton holding a sign that says “Point of No Return.”
After graduating from New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts and making short films, Ishana was taken by her father to directly write several episodes for the Apple TV+ series. servant — including the action-packed finales of seasons 2 and 3.
“I think everyone experiences this intense fear when they step into the professional world for the first time as a young filmmaker,” Ishana tells EW of herself. servant However, her father believes that she already has her own style.
