Alex Kyle had two goals and one assist and the Maine Mariners scored three points in the third period to beat the Toledo Walley 6-4 in ECHL action on Saturday in Toledo, Ohio.
Maine trailed 4-3 after the second period, but Kyle and Tyler Drevich scored in the first 1:08 of the third period to give Maine the lead. Fedor Gordeev added a goal through the air with 18 seconds left.
Jimmy Lambert and Adam Martula also scored for Maine. Trenton Bliss, Olin Centazzo, Riley Sawchuk and Alexandre Doucet scored for Toledo.

PGA Tour: Rookie Jake Knapp made 11 birdies at the Mexican Open at Vidanta in Vallarta, Mexico, and shot an 8-under 63 to take control and give him a four-shot lead going into the final round with a spot in the Masters on the line. Ta.
Knapp, a 29-year-old from UCLA, got off to a birdie-birdie start, hitting his first shot to 2 feet and his second to 4 feet. He had five birdies in the final six holes to close out the front nine with a 28, and no one came closer than three strokes to him on the remaining holes.
Knapp shot 19-under 194, with only Finland’s Sami Valimaki (67) within six strokes of him.
Champions Tour: At the Hassan II Cup held in Rabat, Morocco, Ricardo Gonzalez (Argentina) made four consecutive birdies on the back nine and won by one stroke with a 3-under 70, earning him a place on the PGA Tour Champions team for the first time. Ta.
Gonzalez finished in the top four on the European Legends Tour last season, making him the only PGA Tour Champions event outside of North America other than the Senior British Open. He paid it off in a big way, beating Thomas Bjorn, who shot 69.
LPGA: Popular local player Patty Tavatanakit shot a 6-under 66 to advance to the final round of the LPGA Thailand tournament with a three-stroke lead.
Thavatanakit shot a total of 16 under par and 200 in three rounds at the Siam Country Club Old Course in Chonburi, southeast of Bangkok.
Madelene Sagstrom shot a 69 to take second place.
European tour: Spanish golfer Manuel Elvira has joined his older brother Nacho in the race to win the European Tour after taking the lead at the Kenya Open after the third round in Nairobi.
The younger Elvira shot a 4-under 67, tying him with Dutchman Darius van Driel (68) at 10 under.
Nacho, 37, won his only tour title in 2021 at the Kazoo Open in Wales, where he shot a 68 to finish tied for sixth, three strokes back.

England: Phil Foden’s 16th goal of the season gave Manchester City a 1-0 win over Bournemouth, closing the gap on Premier League leaders Liverpool to one point.

Germany: In the Bundesliga, Harry Kane scored twice for Bayern Munich as they defeated Leipzig 2-1 and ended their losing streak in all competitions with three points.
Kane scored the winning goal in the first minute of stoppage time, taking his tally to 27 goals in 23 Bundesliga appearances.

Dubai Championship: Italy’s Jasmine Paolini scored the biggest win of her career, defeating United Arab Emirates qualifier Anna Kalinskaya 4-6, 7-5, 7-5.
Paolini, ranked 26th in the world, fought back from breakdowns in both the second and third sets to win her second career WTA singles title and first at the 1000 level.

World Cup: Marco Odermatt won his 10th straight giant slalom in Olympic Valley, California, winning the overall World Cup title for the third consecutive year.
The 26-year-old from Switzerland completed both runs in a total time of 2 minutes 11.69 seconds. He finished 0.12 seconds ahead of Norway’s Henrik Kristoffersen. American River Radamas finished 1.37 seconds back in third place, earning his first career World Cup podium.
