Google has temporarily stopped generating images of people from Gemini backgrounds after receiving criticism for the way it handles race. Google said in a post to X that it is aware that Gemini provides inaccuracies in some of its depictions of historical image generation.
Google CEO Sundar Pichai told employees on Tuesday that some of the tools’ responses were offensive to users, “biased” and “totally unacceptable.”
