meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg will arrive in South Korea late Tuesday for talks on artificial intelligence and will meet with President Yoon Seok-yeol and the heads of the country’s tech giants.
According to media reports, Zuckerberg is currently touring Asian countries including Japan, South Korea and India. Meta has ramped up its AI efforts this year, including plans for custom chips and adding AI capabilities to its products.
In addition to Yun, he was also scheduled to meet with Samsung Electronics.

The sources declined to be identified because they were not authorized to speak to the media.
As far as is known, this will be Zuckerberg’s first visit to South Korea in about 10 years.
He is expected to discuss AI chip supply and expanding the generative AI ecosystem as Meta Platforms looks to introduce generative AI technology into its core social media products and hardware devices this year.
Meta plans to deploy a new version of a custom chip in its data centers this year aimed at supporting the company’s AI push, Reuters reported earlier this month. There are also plans to secure approximately 350,000 H100 GPUs (graphics processing units) from Nvidia.
