This week was another busy week for new entries on the Microsoft 365 roadmap website. As we’ve done on Sundays for the past few months, we’ll be highlighting some of the additions to our roadmap over the past seven years. No substitutes will be accepted.
Microsoft Outlook – Introducing a new work location experience for remote workers and more
The new Outlook for Windows, along with Outlook for the web, will add new features in April specifically for people working remotely in businesses. This update adds the ability for users to change their work location by clicking the icon at the top of their calendar.[デイリー ピーク]will be added to the section.
The same employee can also use this feature to see who will be in the office that day. In addition to Outlook, other apps such as Teams also make work location changes. You also have the option to indicate your absence to your manager and other employees.
Another Outlook feature coming to iOS and Android apps in April is the addition of a new contact editor to these apps. Users will be able to create and edit contact lists in these apps instead of using the native experience on iOS and Android devices. .
Microsoft Teams – Introducing reactions at City Hall etc.
If you use Microsoft Teams Premium and have signed up to attend an upcoming town hall event, Microsoft will soon add ways to react to what you see at that event. According to the Microsoft 365 roadmap, a town hall will be held in April. Members can react to the event by saying things like “like,” “love,” “clap,” “laugh,” or “surprised,” which will appear on the side of the screen during the town hall.
Another feature coming to the Android Teams app in April is specifically for admins.
If a conference room has multiple panels deployed, administrators can now enable check-in and room release for this room. The device keeps the check-in status synchronized and verifies whether the room was released correctly or not.
If you use the Teams Rooms feature in Windows, such as a Surface Hub 3 or 2S, we’ll be adding improvements in April to help you with setup. Apps will soon automatically check for updates for that app, along with Windows updates and new apps.
Microsoft Edge – Settings updates coming soon
Finally, the Microsoft 365 roadmap includes a list of minor changes to the Edge web browser coming in April.
To improve usability, we’re updating the Edge settings page to two sections: Privacy & Security and Search & Services. This streamlined approach allows users to more easily find the settings they are interested in.
That’s it for this week. A look back at the Microsoft 365 roadmap. Come back next Sunday for a comprehensive look at what’s coming to Microsoft 365 apps and services.
